... Robin Thicke Has a Big...

According to this video anyway.

I like this song. It’s Marvin Gaye meets Michael Jackson with a hint of Madonna, and wondering what rhymes with “Hug me." (And me wondering if the original lyric there was really "hug me." Mm hmm.)

There's that hot hotness Robin Thicke showing off his vocal range, cutie cute Pharrell bringing back the shiny suit, and my second favorite TV dad TI looking like he took dances lessons from my own father.

So many reasons to love this!
(Robin Thicke f/ T.I. and Pharrell – Blurred Lines)... Hey, hey, hey...

...Caitlin Has Three Mommies...

I heard someone say, “Only a man can be a father and only a woman can be a mother.”

Biologically, sure.

But that doesn’t mean they’re good parents.

Caitlin is one of the sweetest, smartest little cookies I know and she’s being raised by her mom, grandmom, and aunt. If her dad never comes home, is her family not really a family? Is it only a family if a man and a woman are present? What if her dad dies in active duty? What if he comes back a woman? What if he runs off with someone else never to see those he left behind ever again?

Tommy is being raised by his Uncle Stuart.

Stuart might be one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. He’s an oncologist so it’s probably safe to say he’s smart. Not bad looking either.

And his boyfriend is pretty cool, too.

...One of Us Laughed So Hard...

...we might have wet ourselves.

Kids at that age have the strangest fascination with ripping paper that I can't explain, but I'm glad it's there because it makes us smile.

Micah's dad was originally ripping up a job rejection letter when his son responded with uproarious laughter. After that, he made everyone's day.

Caution: this video might be good for your mood and health.

... I Need a Prescription ...

I had something else written and I bumped it for this magnificent discovery.

I know it’s not real, but I have my days where if this existed, I might have overdosed already.

Thank you, medical science. At last, something to truly make life easier.

...Jem is Truly Outrageous....

Truly, truly, truly outrageous.
Whoaaa, Jem, the music's contagious, outrageous

Alright, let me stop--

But we're the Misfits, our songs are better

Sorry, I had to get that out.

It's the first ever episode of one of my favorite childhood cartoons, Jem.  Get excited-- or bewildered, whichever applies.

... I Salute You, Mrs. Westlake...

I happened to catch the Mrs. Westlake episode of the Cosby Show the other day and realized two things:

One:  all of the Theo-centered episodes were always the funniest

Two: Every school had a Mrs. Westlake

Ours was Mrs. Green.

Mrs. Green’s reputation was so horrifying that her own son (also a student in our school) went by a different last name to avoid having to claim her.

Mrs. Westlake intimidated kids into being better students.

Mrs. Green mostly just wore you down.

... You Got Me Into this Mess...

I think that's what he's saying. It's not always easy to decipher a Thom Yorke lyric.

Anyway, how do you not love this song and video?

We knew Thom had some interesting moves from the Lotus Flower clip, but this is my introduction to Fukiko Takase who holds her own here.

... Sometimes I Just Groove ~ Stuff in my Parents' Basement...

Well friends I tell you, I’m busier than a one-toothed man in a corn-on-the-cob eating contest.

And yes, I started to use the one-legged man in that whole other contest, but doesn’t seem appropriate these days.

Either way we’ll have to make do this week with an all earworm post which kind of works out for me since I was digging around in the basement and found a lot of stuff… a lot of stuff.

We still have a ton of 8-track tapes for whatever reason even though my Dad gave away the player eons ago.

Naturally there’s enough vinyl down there to open my own rare collectibles shop. And way too many cassette tapes including a big bag that belong to Dad that had way more rap in it than I would have imagined.

I’ll try not to go overboard.

... You Knew I Was Going to Post This...

I love this stuff.

Some Moms are extra cool
